The Cambie Cheerleading team was founded in 2017 by Teacher and Head Coach Mme Masaki.
This year's team consists of 9 vets and 11 rookies, including 4 international students from Germany, Italy, and Switzerland!
We are coached by Mme Masaki, Amy, Tyler, and Joseph (Cambie Cheer Alumni!), and we practice twice per week (with a few extra practices around competition time).
We are excited to finish this season off strong at Sea to Sky with our friends from Maple Ridge and Argyle, and finally begin preparing for Worlds after two seasons of COVID restrictions.

Maple Ridge Cheer is a family program. All three coaches are all alumni to the program and have been coaching the team for almost 9 years! We wouldn’t be where we are today without our alumni athletes (especially the group of grade 12s who recently graduated) - without everyone who has walked through our gym doors there wouldn’t be the family atmosphere Maple Ridge Cheer has today!
Maple Ridge Cheer is made of of 25 talented athletes, with only 9 athletes who have had cheer experience outside of this year. Our team is made up of 6 veterans from our pre-covid team and 19 other new faces to the program!
Maple Ridge Cheer trains 6 hours a week with a large emphasis on cleanliness and stunting!
Maple Ridge Cheer is so excited to take on Sea to Sky and hit clean at another BC competition! You can follow along with the rest of their season at the handle @mapleridgecheerleading ❤️🤍
The Argyle Cheer program is made up of two teams, Gold Team and Green Team. Gold Team is our Senior Advanced non-tumbling team and Green Team is our Senior Intermediate team.
We have 36 athletes in the program and and 7 coaches. Gold Team this year had one of the highest numbers of rookies on our team than we have had in years, totalling 12 Vets and 9 Rookies.
We practice on average two days a week, one in the morning before school and one after school. We always try to have some fun at our practices. This pandemic has taught us how precious cheer is in our lives and how quickly it can all change, so we truly embrace the philosophy of practice and compete as if its your last time.
As we finish this season and prep for next year, we are most excited to rebuild our foundation as a program. We have all had setbacks as a result of not practicing for a long period of time, and so our main goal is to rebuild the program back to its pre-pandemic state. Our focus will be on building up both the athletes and our coaches during the summer so that we can put our best effort into competing at the School World Championships for the third time in 2023.
We are very thankful for the BCSC for awarding us with our bid, and we cannot wait to represent BC! - Follow us on our journey through our instagram @argyle.cheer

SFU Cheerleading is made up of two teams, a competitive team and a developmental team. Our competitive team, Red team, competes at both local and international competitions in the University Premier level. There is no experience required for our developmental team, white team. They do not compete but work towards level 7 skills for their year end demo. Almost all of our athletes started out on white team, including our amazing coaches. All of our coaches are SFU Cheer alumni! This season, Red team consists of 22 athletes, with 13 rookies and 9 vets. Both teams practise twice a week throughout the whole year, except during exam season. We are so proud of what we have accomplished this season, considering we put together our competitive team in January, consisting of majority rookies, and finished our routine in February. We look forward to working on new skills during summer training and making an even more exciting routine for next season! You can follow along our cheerleading journey and get to know our athletes through our Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter @sfu_cheer.
